Our campaign is only as strong as our team. Join my team and help spread the vision that Alpharetta can be the best place to live, work and play in North Fulton. If you have two hours we have a place for you.

My Vision/Platform

During the coming weeks, this Tab on the website will evolve into a clear framework of my vision for Alphartta’s future.  Please check back periodically to follow the vision and issues I want to present to my neighbors and friends.

My vision for Alpharetta begins with several key goals and principles in mind that I would follow as your next Mayor, and that is:

Maintaining and Strengthening Alpharetta’s Public Safety

  • During my tenure as a City Councilman, I created our region’s first consolidated Public Safety Department.  This new model saves Alpharetta taxpayers in excess of $500,000 a year, while placing our City in a position to attract increased public safety and homeland security grant monies from Federal and State programs.  It has consolidated our command staff into a cohesive, coordinated emergency response team, while placing more public safety personnel on our streets.  I plan on continuing to be a strong public safety advocate as your next Mayor, since I believe this is the top priority of the Chief Executive Officer of any City.
  • I will continue a focus on working with our public safety professionals in maintaining some of the finest emergency call response times in our nation.
  • I will work with our Director of Public Safety and his command staff to enhance community policing within our residential neighborhoods.
  • I will work with our Public Safety Director in implementing a Public Safety outreach program for our youth, to support education in our schools and improve relationships with our police professionals.
  • I will work with our Public Safety Director in supporting our handicapped citizens and senior citizens, by improving our knowledge of their needs and limitations should we ever be called to respond to an emergency situation at their homes.

Securing Alpharetta’s Financial Future

  • Protecting  and maintaining our City’s Triple AAA Bond Rating.
  • Sustaining a stabilized tax base, while continually working towards ways to reduce the tax burden on our citizens.
  • Work to increase our fair share of the local sales tax revenues based on a population formula.
  • Increase our competitiveness with surrounding municipalities and counties, by implementing the goals ultimately approved as a result of the recently developed Economic Plan for the City.  This will include working to make Alpharetta a competitor in attracting new business investment, helping to implement ways to fill up vacant retail space and office space, maintaining a vigilance and proactive stance on having all vacant properties meet property maintenance codes.
  • Support and implement the new Downtown Plan, which is on the ballot for voter approval this November 8th.
  • Commence an outreach program to our business community to retain jobs in Alpharetta and proactively partner with the business community to acquire input on ways to attract further investment in our City.

Protecting and Improving Alpharetta’s Quality of Life

  • We need to continue to maintain and add to our parks and recreational facilities to make them accessible, adaptive  and attractive, while providing the very best recreational programs to our citizens.
  • We must continue to work towards improving traffic flow through cost effective measures, by improved traffic signal interconnect, continue to enhance the use of our traffic control center, continue to provide for bike lanes, continue our efforts to expand the installation of sidewalks around our City, and complete Westside Parkway to improve overall traffic flow within our City.
  • Maintain a strong posture in upholding our Comprehensive Land Use Plan and accompanying zoning codes.
  • Maintain a strong Tree Ordinance.
  • We will work to strengthen our sense of community, including looking for ways to provide improved housing options for our senior citizens.
  • Establish a formal relationship with Fulton County Schools, by appointing a liaison from the City Council for the purpose of supporting our school educational efforts, while improving our community outreach to our youth.
  • Keep Alpharetta a place to work, live and play – with the quality of life of all at the forefront of all our decisions.
